South Bay Senior GuideSearch

Privacy

Short version: you can use this entire site — search, listings, the cost guide, the Care Navigator — without telling us anything. We only hold personal details when you deliberately hand them over, by claiming a listing or asking us to email you a shortlist.

What we collect

Business contact details
Name, role, email address and phone number, when someone claims a listing. Supplied by the person claiming it.
Consent records
For each of email, SMS and phone: whether you agreed, the exact wording shown on screen at the time, the timestamp, and the IP address the answer came from. Kept precisely so both sides can check later what was actually agreed to.
Care Navigator answers
If you ask us to email your shortlist: your email address, the answers you gave, and which listings were on screen. If you do not ask, the quiz stores nothing.
Technical details of a submission
IP address and browser user-agent are recorded with a claim, as evidence of who submitted it. We do not use them to build a profile of you.
Facility information
Names, addresses, license numbers and inspection history come from the California Department of Social Services public record. That is public data about businesses, not personal data about you.

What we never do

  • Sell your personal information, or share it with anyone who would.
  • Pass a family’s details to a facility as a paid lead. We take no placement commissions at all.
  • Add you to a marketing list because you claimed a listing. Those are separate, unticked boxes.
  • Keep emailing after you unsubscribe — the unsubscribe state travels with your record to our CRM.

Who else sees it

The services we use to run the site. Each sees only what it needs to do its job.

ServiceWhat for
SupabaseHosts the database where all of the above is stored.
VercelHosts and serves the site; sees request logs including IP addresses.
ResendSends transactional email, such as a claim verification code. Sees the recipient address.
Make.com, and Airtable behind itReceives a copy of a completed claim — the contact details and the consent record — so we can follow up. Your consent choices travel with it, including whether you have unsubscribed.
Google AnalyticsAggregate traffic measurement, and only if analytics is switched on. It is not given your name or email address.

Your choices

Every marketing consent is optional, starts switched off, and is asked for separately per channel. You can claim a listing having agreed to none of them, and we will still email you about that claim itself, because that is the thing you asked us to do.

You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Write to tom@southbayseniorguide.com. If you are a California resident, you have these rights under the CCPA; we do not charge for exercising them and we will not treat you differently for it.

Deleting a contact record does not remove the business listing. Listings are built from the public state record and exist whether or not anyone has claimed them.

How long we keep it

Consent records are kept for as long as we might contact you, and for a period afterwards, because their entire purpose is being able to show what was agreed and when. Everything else we delete on request.

Children

This site is for adults arranging care. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.
