How this is paid for

This directory is an initiative of a local marketing company, run by Tom Vinkler. Being listed is free, and it stays free. It works because a small share of the businesses listed here decide, entirely separately, to hire us for marketing help.

We would rather tell you that outright than have you discover it. A directory that hides who is behind it has already told you something about how much to trust the rest of the page.

Hiring us is never a condition of being listed, of being listed accurately, or of ranking well. Nothing on this site is for sale except a clearly labeled Featured placement, and that placement does not move anyone up a ranking.

What we will not do

No referral commissions, ever

We are never paid a placement fee. The national referral sites typically collect something close to a resident’s first month of rent when a family moves in, which is a strong reason to steer that family somewhere specific. We do not take that money, so we have no reason to steer anyone.

Sponsorship never buys a ranking

Some businesses pay for a labeled Featured placement. It is always labeled, it never changes a Trust Score, and it never reorders search results or comparisons. The paid slot and the ranking are separate code paths so this stays auditable.

We say where every fact came from

License details come from the California Department of Social Services record, and every listing links to that record so you can check us. Where we do not hold something, the page says so instead of leaving a blank that reads as "none".

No invented numbers

We do not publish a cost figure we cannot cite, and we do not estimate one from a national average. If our cost guide looks empty, that is because we do not yet have local figures we can stand behind.

Why we built it this way

Most national senior-care sites are paid a placement fee — often close to a resident’s first month of rent — when a family they refer moves in. That is a real amount of money riding on which door you walk through, and it is rarely disclosed on the page where the recommendation appears.

We do not take those fees. It means we earn less per family, and it means a listing here is ordered by what we can actually establish about a business rather than by what it is worth to us.

If something here is wrong

Wrong data is the fastest way for a directory to become useless, so we treat it as a serious bug rather than a housekeeping task. If you run one of these businesses, the quickest fix is to find your listing and claim it — that puts the correction in our hands with a record of who sent it.
